An engaging, curious, and committed coach, I love to partner with clients to identify their strengths and current mindsets. Together, we determine what the client truly wants, what might be in the way and explore new thinking and actions. I challenge my clients while also supporting them in a safe, calm environment.
I am especially passionate about seeing others grow in their awareness and potential. As an educator with over 20 years of experience, I have worked as an instructional leader and division level staff developer and trainer. I've served my community as a past president of the Greater Washington Reading Council and as a volunteer alongside other committed, powerful women who work together to provide resources and life experiences to young girls who have experienced trauma and challenging life circumstances. As a certified leadership coach through George Mason University's Leadership Coaching for Organizational Well-being program, I serve my fellow professional coaches as a peer coaching group leader and as an active member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) DC Metro chapter.
In 2019, I founded Red Zinnia, a coaching and consulting firm dedicated to developing and supporting leaders who are passionate about doing good in the world. I coach emerging and senior leaders in the nonprofit and commercial sectors. As a partner with Wiley Learning Solutions Everything DiSC and The Five Behaviors, I offer training to corporate teams seeking to improve workplace relationships and team effectiveness. And by accessing a proven network of certified coaches, I partner with organizations and associations to offer leadership coaching packages as a member benefit at member-only rates.
It was in a little Vegas chapel that I married my best friend, a very clever and funny guy. We enjoy our large blended family of five adult children and one granddaughter. You are most likely to find me grilling something delicious at our mountain cabin in beautiful Luray Virginia, exploring eclectic haunts in the Shenandoah Valley, or taking flying lessons from my flight instructor brother, Tom.
Red Zinnia supports Page One, a charity serving Page County in Virginia. Their humanitarian mission is to provide family assistance to those in the community who find themselves unemployed, sick or for some unforeseen situation, unable to feed their family or meet their financial needs
